Most videos we premiere in these parts are either run-of-the-mill performance video grist or artsy esotericweirdness. Not so for “Soldier,” the epic centerpiece of InAeona‘s Prosthetic debut, Force Rise the Sun. This one’s got some Production Value, and rightfully so, befitting the song’s powerful slow burn.
“We were surprised by the crazy drain we felt when filming wrapped,” says frontwoman Bridge Laviazar. “For us, ‘Soldier’ has always been raw, emotional and empowering… when filming the video, we worked feverishly to keep the spirit of the song in mind, defiant but war-torn, so sad, but so strong in its conviction. It was of incredible importance to us that our performance be as authentic as the message that ‘Soldier’ holds in its heart.”
