Corrupting Influence, the sixth album from brutal/slam death metal pioneers Internal Bleeding, is a triumphant return. After the tragic loss of late drummer Bill Tolley on the job as a firefighter, the group doubled down and recorded some of the best songs of their career, the nine songs on the album. Overflowing with the slams, head-splitting riffs and thunderous vocals one would expect from Internal Bleeding, Corrupting Influence is a worthy addition to the Internal Bleeding catalogue and one of the best brutal death metal albums you’ll hear in 2018 (and probably beyond).
“We worked really hard on creating an album that is chock full of signature Internal Bleeding riffs,” the band told Decibel. “It also contains a lot of surprise twists and turns that expand on our sound and take some songs to places we’ve never gone before. With the shadow of our lost brother Bill Tolley looming large over us, we had to make sure Corrupting Influence was something he would listen to and be proud of. We feel we accomplished that and we hope our fans will enjoy the ride.”
