End Reign — the new crossover powerhouse featuring members of All Out War, Pig Destroyer, Exhumed, and more — makes a proper full-length debut next month. The quintet fuses hardcore elements with tinges of thrash and death metal that makes The Way of All Flesh is Decay a much-anticipated release.
To hold everyone over until its release, the band has unveiled a new track from the album entitled “Chasing Divinity.” This track follows a previous single called “Desolate Fog.” Like the prior single, this new song comes with a new music video. The video for “Chasing Divinity” was directed by Jeffrey Sisson and features an abduction and grim, grotesque transformation of a man into a mutant.
In a comment to Decibel, End Reign says of the new track, “‘Chasing Divinity’ is my favorite song on the album! Imagine the Aerosmith/Run-DMC video for ‘Walk This Way’ except that it’s Bathory and Metallica in 1986 (year adjusted so Under the Sign of The Black Mark and Cliff Burton can exist in the same lexicon). This is also the song where I asked Sebastian Phillips to contribute a guitar solo that ended up being so good I asked him to join the band.”
Check out the video for “Chasing Divinity” now ahead of the release of their debut album, The Way of All Flesh is Decay, on July 14 through Relapse Records. Pre-order it here.
