The Swedish post-metal/post-hardcore quartet previously known as simply V has been reborn as Vorder with its latest pandemic-written and -recorded full length, False Haven. With roots in Sweden’s 90s hardcore scene, the outfit – Daniel Liljekvis (drums), Marcus Mackä Lindqvist (bass), Andreas Beier (guitar/vocals), Jonas Gryth (guitars) – have honed their anger and malevolence into something more nuanced in Vorder. False Haven juxtaposes melodic post-hardcore soundscapes with harsh vocals and sludge-inspired heaviness.
The band’s new six-song full-length (its third) is set for release on vinyl and digitally via Suicide Records on May 26. You can preorder your copy here.
This is what the band had to say about its latest effort:
”Out of nowhere, there’s a swing of a hundred scythes. From beyond the tunnel, from beyond light. In many ways False Haven represents a rebirth for the band. When the world stopped due to the pandemic, it gave us more time to start new cycle for the band and write the songs with time.”
