Halloween is over but the spirit lives on in the video for “Grave Walk,” the latest from North Carolina metalcore crew Violent Life Violent Death. Filled with chugging guitars, metallic breakdowns, fat grooves and screamed vocals, “Grave Walk” is pretty much a guaranteed future live staple.

While they stay rooted in hardcore and metalcore, Violent Life Violent Death bring an intensity on their new EP, The Color of Bone, that sets them apart from their peers. There is aggression and a sense that things could go off the rails at any point, something that especially benefits the accompanying music video which portrays two children in a less-than-ideal situation.

“’Grave Walk’ is about the deafening silence in graveyards and what that silence is saying,” Violent Life Violent Death explain. “The memories and emotions that are left behind in the ground, trapped in stone and dirt.”

The Color of Bone is out now on Innerstrength Records—go here to stream and purchase the album.
