We’re all going through changes these days. Like going a week without changing our sweatpants — that was definitely a new one for me. Fortunately, most brutal death metal bands have a pair of embroidered jogging suits for each day of the week. But that doesn’t mean U.K. gore-guzzlers Foetal Juice have been immune to readjusting to life during the current pandemic. They’ve recently endured a lineup change but have been unable to shoot new promo photos due to social distancing measures. You’ll just have to imagine what their pretty faces look like all squished together at 72 dpi, but while you’re doing that, we’ve got the perfect soundtrack: a brand new Foetal Juice jam called “Metamorphosis.”
“’Metamorphosis’ is about the mental transformation that any normal person can take if the right buttons are pressed,” the band tells Decibel. “Essentially, it’s about anger boiling over when we see the selfishness of man. Musically, we have opted to go more traditional, aggressive death metal with this one as it encompasses the feeling of rage that the lyrics are depicting.”
