Napalm Death fans in attendance at Decibel Magazine Metal & Beer Fest: Philly are in for a special treat. Beyond the obvious delight of the British extreme metal institution performing a one-time-only special set of material from their legendary Harmony Corruption (1990) and Utopia Banished (1992) records, “Metal & Beer” ticket holders will be able to sample pours of the band’s collaboration beer with featured festival brewery Wake Brewing!
“Sink Fast… Let Go! is a proper Birmingham England-style ESB (Extra Special Bitter) with subtle notes of Peppercorn,” Wake Brewing co-founder Jason Parris says of his teaming with our April 3 night headliners. “It has been amazing to work with [Napalm frontman] Barney [Greenway] on this collaboration beer. He is well-versed in beer styles and knows exactly what he wants to see out of this release. We are excited to unleash this on everyone at the Metal & Beer Fest in Philly, I am sure it will be a crowd favorite to drink in the pit.”
“With a lot of these breweries, it’s very much like independent music; you’re supporting artisans,” says Greenway of the shared aesthetic between craft breweries in the underground music scene. “So, if you’re buying beer from small and local brewers living on peanuts, you’re supporting independent business, which is what Napalm Death and a lot of other bands came from.”
If you wanna sample Sink Fast… we suggest you move fast! Because the “Metal & Beer” ticket option that entitles attendees to pours from all 20 breweries at the festival, are down to under 30 weekend passes! Don’t abstain—get your tickets below!
