Can you think of a metal musician more prolific over the last few years than Trevor William Church? Since 2014, the guitarist and vocalist has dropped over a dozen releases with his projects Beastmaker, Decibel faves Haunt and now the debut album from his latest band, Hysteria.
Night Closing In is a high-energy romp through traditionally-styled heavy metal, with Church on bass. John Tucker (Beastmaker, Haunt) plays guitar alongside Jake Nunn (Hell Fire), who also serves as the band’s vocalist. Hell Fire drummer Mike Smith rounds out the lineup.
Hysteria deliver everything needed to make a killer heavy metal album: soaring melodies, galloping riffs and blazing harmonies abound. Songs like “Soldiers of Tribulation” and “Prophets of the Void” could be long-lost ’80s bangers, but it’s no trick: Hysteria released Night Closing In today, Halloween 2019.
