Norwegian vets Blood Red Throne have come a long way from the days when they were simply known as “that death metal band with the dude who played on In the Nightside Eclipse.” In truth, they developed into a death metal killing machine ages ago, long before Tchort left the band in 2010. They’ve recorded four full-lengths since then, including their latest, Fit to Kill, which will be be their debut for Danish powerhouse Mighty Music. You’ll have to wait until September 13 to experience its glory in full, but we have a have an early taste for your battered earholes in the form of new LP track “Skyggemannen.” Vocalist Yngve “Bolt” Christiansen fills in the details.
“‘Skyggemannen’ or, ‘The Man in the Shadow,’ is a song about the conflict between a mans’s personal duality and struggle in whom to be, why to be, and how to overcome a battle which is only seen in your own mirror.” says Christiansen. “It’s written in Norwegian, like ‘Dødens Makt’ from our self-titled album, ’cause I want a clear stamp of where we are from, on the record.”
