California’s Berthold City burst onto the scene last year with their Moment of Truth EP, but they haven’t been sitting idly since then. The Los Angeles-based hardcore faction—led by Strife and World Be Free guitarist Andrew Kline, who handles vocals in Berthold City—are back with a new seven-inch called What Time Takes.
Like Moment of Truth, the songs on What Time Takes are stripped-down hardcore offerings written with stagedives, mic grabs and mosh pits in mind. For proof, take a listen to the title track below.
“’What Time Takes’ is about realizing that life is short and that tomorrow is not promised,” Kline tells Decibel. “It’s about appreciating the small things in life that make you happy and letting go of everything else that is just not worth your time.
“Money, material possessions and even friends come and go, but time is the one thing in life you can’t get back… Use it wisely!”
What Time Takes is out June 14 on WAR Records.
