Rising from the fertile Italian underground comes death/doom behemoth Ferum. On their first recorded material, a five-song EP titled Vergence, the trio sound as if they crawled out of a crypt and didn’t bother to shake off the dirt and rot before stepping into the studio. Guitarist/vocalist Samantha (no last name given) offers cavernous, putrid vocals that complement the glacially slow death/doom she and her cohorts summon.
On new song “Perpetual Distrust,” Convocation/Dark Buddha Rising vocalist Marko Neuman offers his own vocals to the mix. Convocation and Ferum aren’t all that separate in terms of sound, his presence adding an extra layer of darkness to the song.
Check it out below; Vergence is coming in digital and physical forms on December 14 via Everlasting Spew.
