Societe Announce Beers for Decibel Metal & Beer Fest

With a pair of Metal & Beer Fests under our (bullet) belt and our inaugural Decibel Metal & Beer Fest: Los Angeles just over the horizon,  Decibel has been fortunate to work with a few breweries more than once. One of those breweries is California’s Societe, who will be back for their second round December 1 & 2 at the Wiltern.

“There is no greater marriage than extreme metal and craft beer,” enthuses Societe co-founder Doug Constantiner. “Both are made by people who have chosen their careers based on passion and not financial success and both have the most rabid, die-hard fans/customers/consumers on this planet. Craft beer is a big middle finger to the large corporate multinational breweries, much like extreme metal is to pop music. Craft beer closes the loop by bringing a sensory assault to your pallet.”

Here’s what to expect from Societe when you arrive at Decibel Metal & Beer Fest: Los Angeles (tickets still available).

The Butcher (9.666% ABV)
The Butcher is a rich yet impressively drinkable imperial stout with profound roasted malt character and a velvety smooth body that conceals its alcoholic fortitude. A dense, cocoa-colored head delivers chocolaty aromas that segue beautifully to bittersweet, roasty flavors evocative of French Roast coffee.

The Mistress (5.3% ABV)
The Mistress connived her way into her hearts over time, playing off our lust for the bright, earthen, almost ethereal essence of hops, inviting…nearly daring us to thrust an overwhelming dose of those botanicals into a pilsner base. The result is something simultaneously traditional, modern and even a wee bit sinful.
