The Bay Area quartet’s upcoming sophomore full-length Stapler is a dizzying, invigorating, really-shouldn’t-work-but-somehow-does amalgamation of melody, noise, velocity, and urgency, calling to mind everything from SST and AmRep classics to garage rock to Britpop to Dinosaur Jr to Lou Reed to John Zorn. It is as bold as it completely nuts.
