This summer, Nails hit the road in support of their latest album, You Will Never Be One Of Us. Among the multiple guests they brought with them was noisy grind outfit Full of Hell. If that whirlwind of hardcore aggression wasn’t enough, the two bands announced a split together. That split is heavy and that split is fast. And today, we present it in full for you to stream.
It was just said, but it bears repeating: The split is fast. Really fast. Nails have the first track on the three-song release, tearing through “No Longer Under Your Control” with nothing less than the than the unchecked rage the band have consistently delivered.
Full of Hell’s contributions make up the second part of the split. They match the blistering speed of Nails’ contribution, and, somehow, the aggression as well. Dylan Walker’s vocals come through the storm of noise and grind like a piercing assault; death growls and shrieks that sound almost pained match the musical explosion.
“This split came together out of a mutual respect between our bands and the songs encapsulate where we were mentally when we wrote them,” Walker says. “The Nails song is an external war against anyone that holds you down and devalues you. The Full of Hell side is the inverse: an internal war against innate human violence in our genealogy and the struggle against complacent fear. Working with Closed Casket was an obvious choice in terms of releasing a record with its full potential. Justin puts priority in aesthetics just like we do. The physical art and packaging is always important and it’s good to collaborate with someone who feels the same.”
Closed Casket Activities will unleash the Nails/Full of Hell split on December 2. You can preorder it here. Full of Hell will hit the road in the new year with Entombed A.D. Dates below.
