Kai Hansen unleashes the first song from his upcoming solo debut, XXX – Three Decades In Metal on earMusic, in a flurry of riffs and ringing screams. “Born Free” moves at a breakneck pace with the powerful vocals expected from the former Helloween and current Gamma Ray singer.
Hansen gives a nod to his hometown of Hamburg in the song, the first taste of what to expect on XXX.
The new album features Alex Dietz of Heaven Shall Burn on bass, Daniel Wilding of Carcass on drums and Eike Freese on guitar and is due for an early fall release on earMUSIC.
