We’ve run many a Deciblog piece on Locrian’s Andre Foisy and his “metal yoga” instruction in Chicago. Well, now there’s a DVD for what one has to imagine is a similar practice (which doesn’t appear to include Foisy), created by 200-hour RYT-certified instructor Kimee Massie. Black Yoga is “vinyasa-style yoga set to drone, noise, stoner metal, ambient, industrial, space doom, and other traditional meditation music.” The DVD/instructional video, Asanas Ritual, Vol. 1, contains a full hour-long class and original score, and the CD soundtrack features music created by the Black Yoga Meditation Ensemble, boasting members of Storm King, Veniculture, Agnes Wired For Sound, Moonstation Burning, Vulture, Deathcrawl, Complete Failure, Hero Destroyed, Filth On Demand, Secant Prime, Emay, Crown Of Eternity and Torrential Bleeding. Both will be out on Screaming Crow October 30, and we have the exclusive premiere of “Negative Confession” below.
