If metal was a mother, beer would replace breast milk. The folks at esteemed N.Y.C. drinking establishment Idle Hands Bar in the fragrant East Village neighborhood know this very well. (Do your beer gut a favor, and follow them @IdleHandsBar.) They’re teaming up with the brewmasters at Harpoon and Speakeasy to bring you Learning to Beer with Metallica. Beers will be paired with songs from Ride the Lightning on July 27th and songs from the Black Album on August 9th. By now, Decibel‘s Brewtal Truth column should have educated you enough to be ready for this bonerific contest. Do not embarrass us by asking when the St. Anger event is taking place.
We have one pair of tickets to give away to the event of your choice. To enter for a chance to win, email [email protected] within the next 24 hours. Contest ends Tuesday, July 26, at 9:30 a.m. EST. It goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway: The winner and his/her guest must be 21 or older and have the ID to prove it. Otherwise, you’re riding the lightning straight to the curb. In other news, the Deciblog will be in attendance on August 9 to do a full review for those of you who can’t make it, didn’t win, or hate Metallica but love beer.
