Listening to this for the first time. Much better than Traitors but not as good as Discordia. I'm not a huge fan of modern death metal but this has the right groove and isn't just all widdly woodly, though the drums are still way too fucking digital.

I liked Traitors more, but Discordia more than both of them. I thought the drum sound was disappointing. Way too digital indeed.

Discordia and Dissent are the only two I have really gotten into. They absolutely KILL it live though. I would say they have a death/grind feel to them more than just straight death metal. I know I've heard them refer to themselves as deathgrind in interviews. I'll have to check out the new disc.

I think their "levels" and amount of "polish" on this one are about the same as that album we were talking about the other day kenkoopa...but no click click click drum noise on that other album. I wonder who mastered this Misery Index cd.
