While my last brief obituary concerned the untimely death of a legendary musician, this one is unfortunately a little more timely and much less legendary. Unlike Phil Vane, who was still screaming his guts out for Extreme Noise Terror when he recently passed in his sleep, Mike Starr hadn't been with his band of note, Alice in Chains, since 1993. Instead his recent popularity stemmed from his Celebrity Rehab stint where he passed out bass picks with his name on them and made us sad. I'm not here to praise or mock him, someone who at least on the surface probably doesn't deserve either. But like Vane and almost all musicians who go, here is a how we assume he'd want to be remembered.
