Black Metal Book Club

Our first entry for this darkened covenant is The Moon Tonight Feels My Revenge by Matthew Simmons. It’s a fifty-page novella, short enough for even the busiest corpse-painter in the land, and intersperses schizophrenic tales of having fists for fingers and trips to Mars with the author’s imaginings of the lives of black metal musicians like Sin Nanna of Striborg and Malefic of Xasthur. It’s a weird fucking book and while there may be a disappointing lack of actual black metal content, there’s still plenty of deranged storytelling and upsetting imagery to keep you reading by the lone sable candle in your dungeon.

So now the question must be asked: What would be a worthy second entry for this book club? And don’t say Lords of Chaos. That shit is obvious.
