Entombed Announce PledgeMusic Campaign for Release of Dual ‘Clandestine’ Concerts, Hint at New Material

Normally Decibel doesn’t approve of metal bands begging… er, “crowdfunding” in order to release material. But when that band is the legendary "true" Entombed—Alex Hellid (guitar), Uffe Cederlund (guitar) and Nicke Andersson (drums)—and the release is directly related to their soon to be Hall of Fame-inducted Clandestine LP (watch for it in the December 2016 issue), Decibel can make an exception.

On November 12—the 25th anniversary of Clandestine’s release—Hellid, Cederlund and Andersson will perform the album in full at Malmo Live, first sitting in with conductor Josef Rhedin and the 100-plus member Malmo Symphony Orchestra for Thomas Von Wachenfeldt’s arrangement of Clandestine, and the band will then perform the landmark album in its entirety for the very first (or second, really) time.

Entombed and PledgeMusic are now inviting fans to be part of the band’s special dual performance at Malmo Live. Fans interesting in donating the release of concert film can view the PledgeMusic campaign here

Additional items are planned to be added as the campaign progresses; fans are urged to revisit regularly as new items are revealed.

And for those of you more interested in hearing what new Entombed sounds that this unholy Hellid/Cederlund/Andersson trinity could possibility have in store, well, according to Cederlund, there is some hope.

“We have been re-recording old stuff to see how we sound today—and we like it. Time is flying faster as I get older and I would love to be part of a new Entombed album. I’m open for it.”

Tickets for the performance at Malmo Live are available here.
