Immolation Unveil 25th Anniversary Re-recording of “Immolation” Via Decibel Flexi Series!

OK, before you even ask about, it’s likely that there will NEVER be a Hall of Fame induction for Immolation’s monolithic 1991 debut Dawn of Possession. I don’t really wanna go into the details here, but if you see me at show and ply me with alcohol, maybe I’ll talk.

Old-schoolers can wipe their tears with a vintage Blue Grape catalog, however. Because Dawn of Possession lives on with a re-recording of album-closer “Immolation” to celebrate the track’s 25th anniversary. To be fair, “Immolation” initially appeared as the opening track on the first Immolation demo back in ’88, but most of you are way more familiar with the Dawn rendition, so let’s not get technical here.

This 2016 version of “Immolation” was recorded over the summer sessions for Immolation’s new studio LP Atonement, which will be available via Nuclear Blast in late February. But for now, bask in the new recording of “Immolation” and the bonus death metal nerd knowledge that Dawn engineer Harris Johns was drafted to mix this re-recording to make this Decibel flexi that much sicker.

Feast of the flesh of the innocents killed below.

Deluxe Decibel subscribers will receive our December issue containing the Immolation flexi over the next few weeks, but if you still wanna score one, we have an EXTREMELY LIMITED number available with the issue in our webstore here
