Misery Index Covers Sepultura for 5th Anniversary of Decibel Flexi Series

If you’re an old bastard—like the vast majority of the dB masthead—celebrating real-life birthdays or anniversaries isn’t so appealing after a while. But special events pertaining to the magazine itself? Shit, we’re only 11! That’s still more or less prepubescent, which is totally appropriate for the music we cover. And it’s why, since the Flexi Series turns five with the January 2016 issue (featuring our annual Top 40 Albums of the Year breakdown), we had to do something cool: hence, we bring you Baltimore deathgrind maniacs Misery Index covering Sepultura classic “Primitive Future.”

It’s safe to say these dudes know death metal: MI’s Jason Netherton released his own bound, printed history of the genre last year, which should totally be on your bookshelf alongside our editor-in-chief’s. And come on: they took on the final track on Decibel Hall of Fame cornerstone Beneath the Remains. “Primitive Future” was recorded by Misery Index specifically for the Flexi Series, appearing on seasonally appropriate black-on-orange plastic to honor BTM‘s iconic cover. You can hear this monster below, and then order a copy of the issue right here!
