Greetings Decibelheads!
Three weeks into recording our new album and we are right on schedule (so far!) with all the rhythm guitars, drums and bass tracked. We work at a pace that is not for the faint of heart! Go and stop, stop and go, hurry up and wait, vibe out then attack. Not to mention, we are the night owls! I don’t think a note has been recorded before 4:20 p.m. yet. Looks like everyone is on Rob time. Or am I on Suecof’s time?

That said, we are progressing in a big way! Seems like yesterday when I flew from San Francisco, CA to Orlando, FL to begin the recording process at AudioHammer Studios in Sanford, FL. I came out here a few days before the rest of the guys to work out the (nearly) final arrangements and detail some parts, riffs and harmonies with Jason. We spent hours just hanging out listening to the songs while getting acquainted as this was the first time we actually met in person. It’s necessary to break the ice before attempting to dive in and collaborate on something so intense! When we settled on all the structures, I recorded scratch guitar tracks for all the songs.
Next, Will and Ted went on their big adventure to Florida. We posted up in Studio A at Big Shot Studios in Altomonte Springs, FL, where we were fortunate to have Mark Lewis handle the engineer duties. We got amazing drum tone out of that big room and Will slayed the tracks, no doubt! Drums are insanely thunderous I tell you! Will is Beast-Man!

Then we moved back to AudioHammer to track guitars. We got crushing tone in no time! Crunchy, gritty and beautifully brutal. Shout out to Jeremy who has been on hand to keep the axes strung up and intonated to perfection. We got our vibe on and attacked the songs! This is the first time that I used my Signature Series Jackson for all the rhythm parts and I’m so happy with the results... guitars are alive!

Enter Damien. Imported directly from Italy where he was last seen on tour with Potential Threat! After a long flight across the pond we put him straight to work! Thing is, this madman was game to jam soon as he arrived. After a beer and a smoke we were ready to begin. Rickenbacker and Fender were the instruments of choice and the sessions began. Did someone say solid? Sick tone, some of the best I’ve heard in metal today. The bass lines on this album are so wickedly sexy...

So I guess you can tell we are excited about this record! We start up guitar overdubs tomorrow... after a barbeque at Jason and Ronn’s place. We wouldn’t want to start too early in the day.
G’night kids.
