High On Fire unveils “Frost Hammer” video

Our cover boys High On Fire (shameless buy issue here plug) are traversing 'Can Do No Wrong' territory at the moment. But if there's one observation to be made about the "Frost Hammer" video is that it's visually -- apart from the jam room footage -- near cheek to cheek with all the Viking/Pagan/Folk metal videos. Ax-wielding, berobed bearded dudes standing atop of a frost-covered mountain is, well, European. Then again, High On Fire has sported the barbarian aesthetic for a good number of years and we doubt frontmaster Matt Pike will ever sport Joey DeMaio-approved furry greaves and vambraces. Though he might wear snakeskin pauldrons.
