Neko Case's Metal Musings

The Deciblog's super-secret insider sources tipped us to the fact that the very non-metal Neko Case was all about metal-based stage banter last night at her show at The Pageant in St. Louis. Musings on Slayer, Celtic Frost, Cannibal Corpse, KISS, Maiden, and Megadeth after the jump.

The Riverfront Times reported:

"Inexplicably, banter throughout the set turned to Slayer, and Case musing that 'Tom Araya probably got the most pussy in metal.' References to all forms of metal became a recurring—and increasingly ridiculous—theme as the 90-minute set wore on. The introduction to 'Prison Girls' was: 'This song could be a Slayer song. Or our Celtic Frost. Those guys are too serious to get laid,' and devolved into musing about Cannibal Corpse ordering English breakfast after a recent tour date. Case revealed she likes KISS and Iron Maiden and at some point blurted out, 'It's fucking embarrassing to be Megadeth.'"

Neko, expect a call from the Deciblog soon. This is too good not to expound on.

I knew it!

She and Kelly Hogan had a back and forth about Venom when they played All Points West, too, much to the confusion of fans.

As if I didn't already want Neko to have my babies

I've liked her for a long time. She writes some great songs.

d'awww

My old roommate turned me on to Neko Case a few years ago, she actually used to live here in Chicago. Glad I got to see her once live.

Neko's cool- she's from Tacoma, of course she's down with the metal.
