Saviours Studio Video Blog Part I

Back in June, the call came in from dB HQ: Comrade Mudrian wanted me to hop into my trusty Green Hornet and drive up to San Francisco with a video camera to shoot some footage of Oaktown road dogs Saviours recording their new album, Accelerated Living, at Lucky Cat studios with Phil Manley of Trans Am and The Fucking Champs. The whole scene quickly devolved into a blizzard of shitty coke, cheap beer and 3AM viewings of ancient Celtic Frost live footage (on VHS, obviously) at vocalist/guitarist Austin Barber's pad—a place he shares with Draugar mastermind and renowned SF tattoo artist Tim Lehi, who also painted the cover for Saviours' latest. The more sober moments went kinda like this:

Nice job, J. I hate shitty coke. Ya know, the grocery store knock-offs of real Coca-Cola.

RC Cola and Faygo.

^ Nah, dude. Faygo has some rad shit. Ever tried Rock & Rye? Faygo Creme Soda also rocks.

These dudes are so genuine...if I "sang" in a band, I would totally do my vocals in a fuckin' pitch black tent. Awesome. I love studio shit like this...wish High on Fire were doing one for the new record...

Yo where's part 2 at? This band's sick as fuck. Bahleedat.
