Cobalt
Gin
Cobalt's vision of guns and fucking in the streets is pretty dope | Profound Lore
Here is an ambitious record: dedicated to Ernest Hemingway and Hunter S.
Thompson, with photos of Hemingway, young (front) and old (back). The elder Ernest holds a shotgun; in the liner
notes, Thompson points a pistol at a typewriter. Gin has 61 tracks (10 songs and a hidden track).
Hemingway died at 61. Both he and Thompson committed suicide by gunshot. Both loved drink. In real life, guns and
drink mean trouble. In rock, they’re heaven-sent. To this concoction, the lyrics add fucking—bad, sick, sometimes
incestuous.
