When tasked with writing about a band as philosophically single-minded as Anaal Nathrakh, typical questions about the recording their new album or tour stories just don't seem to cut it. They don't even really tour anyway—they hate. The word "misanthropy" has followed them around from their demos through their new LP Eschaton, and for good reason; nominally black metal, influences from the filthiest crust and grind seep into their music to form the polar opposite of self-hating isolationist BM.
